I’ve recently wrapped up preparing some materials to address cyber bullying since it is such an unfortunate part of our technologically-driven society. It’s happening early and earlier and students have access to devices such as smart phones, tablets, and laptops at younger ages. While it’s fairly common and easy to address these topics in classroom guidance lessons, the most important place where it can be addressed is at home. Communication, openness, and firm boundaries are key! With my cyber bullying unit, I always send home a letter explaining concepts to parents and giving them a list of ways they can help. I created this Technology Use Contract to send home when parents request a little extra help, and you can get it for free in my TpT store:
There are many of these technology contracts out there, so look around and find one that fits your family and your situation! Check out this contract from Safe Kids as well!
